I learned how to ride a bike on the same day as my little sister.
I was too scared to allow my Dad to teach me how for 2 years. I was scared of falling and getting hurt. And then I made that fear mean that I couldn’t do it, so I refused to try.
As soon as I saw how easy it was for my sister to learn, I dropped my fear in a moment and learned how to ride a bike in about 5 minutes.
And then I felt all kinds of shame and embarrassment. Riding a bike was actually fun! Why had I waited? What was I scared of?
And I notice this pattern over and over again in my life, even today.
What stories keep coming up in your life? Are they somehow a metaphor for you?
Enjoy the episode!
