What has a healing effect?
My whole journey with Presence started with a quote from a book. In the book The Map of Consciousness Explained by Dr. David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., the author uses a client example to illustrate the concept that a higher vibration emotion like love has a healing effect on a lower vibration emotion like fear. Dr. Hawkins says, “It is not what we say, but the very fact of our presence that has the healing effect.” (This assumes our presence holds a high vibration like love.) That one statement has had a profound effect on me. I have spent countless hours pondering what that might mean for me and the legacy I want to leave in the world.
In addition to what Dr Hawkins teaches us, there is a study comparing modalities in therapy. The study attempted to find what modality was the most effective in the therapy relationship. The finding was that no modality was the primary healer, but the relationship between the therapist and client itself.
One prompting I am often reminded is the Lord’s Spirit telling me, “Help my daughters heal.” So I know that healing of some kind is part of the legacy I want to leave the world. If it’s true that it’s not what I say, and it’s not the specific modality I employ, but my very presence that has a healing effect, I want to cultivate a positive presence. I want my very presence to have a healing effect on those around me.
The same is possible for you
The same is possible for you. Your presence has an effect on the world. Do you want to maximize your positive effect on the world? If so, I invite you into my small group somatic based coaching membership, where we do the work to deepen our presence. We first heal ourselves so that our efforts can ripple out into our worlds and start to heal the world as well. Give yourself and others the gift of Presence this Christmas.
